THOMAS CHARLES WRITING BOOK ON CONSUMER DEBT
- Leading debt solutions consultancy will offer practical and accessible help to the hundreds of thousands who have serious debt problems -
(London 22/12/05) Thomas Charles (www.thomascharles.com), the leading debt solutions consultancy, is taking an unusual step to help the growing number of people who are facing serious debt – it is publishing a book offering practical advice and help for solving personal debt problems. The book will be written by Thomas Charles MD, James Falla, who has extensive experience in debt management and the proceeds will go to charity. Still untitled, it is expected to be published late summer 2006.
With individual insolvencies already at a record level and forecast to soar further in the first quarter of 2006, the book will be a survivor’s guide to debt and offer readers a wide-ranging source of practical advice and help:
- What solutions are available and where to go for the best advice and help
- How to live a more frugal lifestyle and budget effectively (This will be supported by actionable worksheets and checklists to help people analyse their debt and spending and take the relevant actions.)
- Real life case studies of those who have escaped the debt trap and how they have achieved this
Managing Director of Thomas Charles, James Falla, said:
“Insolvencies are forecast to reach a record 20,000 at the start of 2006, largely because of overspending at Christmas. However, even this amount is just the tip of the iceberg. Recent research reveals that over three million people owe more that £10,000 on loans and credit cards. A quarter of a million of these owe more than £50,000, of which 80% are on the verge of bankruptcy.
It is these people that the book is intended to help. We know from clients that being in serious debt is an alienating and disaffecting experience. Therefore the book will be written in a friendly and conversational designed to give readers renewed hope and confidence and to inspire take positive action. Interested parties, including the media, are increasingly realising that it is no use just pointing the finger and allocating blame people’s debt problems. We must try and provide practical help."
Thomas Charles provides formal and informal debt solutions and advice to its clients. The company was set up in August 2004 by James Falla who has 7 years experience in the insolvency and debt management industry and successfully helped set up the debt help specialists, Brookvale Group PLC, listed on OFEX since 2001.
